Timeline: In the Third Age of Middle earth - between the Battle of the Five Armies and the Fellowship of the Ring
Summary: Players acquire resources to complete various quests: Provisions (30 green), Travel (24 blue), Might (18 purple), and Gold (12 yellow). Players use Magic (10 white) as a fifth resource, which may be used in place of the others. Once a Quest card is completed, it earns points and provides an ongoing ability. In addition to the resources, Corruption (10 gray) gives an immediate benefit, but too much will bring suffering. By completing specific quest types (The Shire, Gondor, Rohan, Rivendell, and Legends), players can prove their worth and earn Contracts. The game ends when a player has completed a combined total of at least seven Quests and Contracts.
