This is a scenario of cosmic horror set in the Soviet Union. The investigators are Soviet citizens with security clearance: state security officers, scientists, physicians, engineers, and Party functionaries drawn together for a quiet, deniable assignment in a closed atomic city. Something has gone wrong in the earth beneath the plant. Moscow wants it understood, contained and above all kept silent.
