The animals escaped the zoo and now they want to get back in (They know where their breakfast will be served.) Help the animals wander the neighborhood and re-enter the zoo in this tile laying game. The game breaks all the normal tile laying mechanics so arrive with an open mind.

The number 1 game on bgg, and bafflingly obscure considering that. I've had so many people tell me they were excited to check it out I thought I'd give em all a chance.

Brass: Birmingham is an economic strategy game sequel to Martin Wallace's 2007 masterpiece, Brass. Brass: Birmingham tells the story of competing entrepreneurs in Birmingham during the industrial revolution between the years of 1770 and 1870.

It offers a very different story arc and experience from its predecessor. As in its predecessor, you must develop, build and establish your industries and network in an effort to exploit low or high market demands. The game is played over two halves: the canal era (years 1770-1830) and the rail era (years 1830-1870). To win the game, score the most VPs. VPs are counted at the end of each half for the canals, rails and established (flipped) industry tiles.

Song of the Sekuta is a role-playing game set within the World of COLONY, a fantastical universe centered around the lives, cultures, and adventures of the Sekuta – evolutions of modern insects. The Sekuta’s world of Aoiama is vast and rich with lore, mythology, religions, and characters to explore, much of which will be available to read and enjoy in this game’s manual.

This game is a unique blend between traditional pen/paper/dice RPGs, a deck–building element inspired by living card game models, as well as war game mechanics.

This can currently be played in two formats:
A PvP skirmish format called Arena (playable with 2+ players) (~1 hour)
A PvE role-playing format called Adventure (playable with 3+ players) (1 hour+)

This game is still in development. What players will experience during their time at the table reflects an unfinished demo of the game. We are a small team seeking funding opportunities, with passion and dedication to push forward toward our goals. While our resources are scarce, we make do with what we have in technical knowledge, artistic talent and skill, and a hope that our diligent labor will one day bear fruit. We are still iterating and testing many parts of the game, which we hope our most recent public demo will help shed light on where we can improve our system and design.

A group of gnomes fleeing harsher restrictions in Brastlewark, one of the largest gnome settlements as well as one nominally ruled by a Thrune sympathizer, has brought terrible news--the self-proclaimed ruler of Brastlewark, King Drum Thornfiddle has been using Hellknight enforcers to crack down on the gnome citizens, as well as forcing many to use their primal magics to mix with diabolical ones in the creation of weapons of war, such as the Jaws of Hell, which saw use in the Battle of Hellknight Hill.

The Andoran Army has pushed far enough into Cheliax that destruction of these facilities and liberation of the gnomes is now possible, but they can't do both. This year's Teaquinox Faire is heating up, and as a contestant, you have four days to prove to the world that your kettle has the mettle to win!

In Tea Witches, tea vendors from across the land must summon and serve lines of witches in order to gain their loyalty, all while sending out magical TeaPups to entice Celebri-Teas and find ways to further enhance their prestige. By growing their loyal fan base, upgrading their hut to maximize service, and collecting all the right tips and toppings they can prove that their tea reigns supreme.

The game lasts four rounds, each representing one day of the Teaquinox Faire. Each day has two phases. In the summoning phase, players simultaneously draw a crowd of witches to their tea hut, being mindful not to push their luck too far as any identical witches will cause a hex, which results in witches leaving the queue.

In the service phase, players take turns sending their adorable TeaPups to various Bootiques in the city to gather toppings and collect tea from the rotating crystal fountain in order to serve witches waiting at their hut. Additionally, TeaPups can help players collect powerful upgrades, attract Celebri-teas, and brew up Special-Teas with bonus abilities. Clever TeaPup placement can also help you complete to-go orders for witches out and about in the city center.

Completing tea orders, attracting celebrities, earning money, and upgrading your tea hut will earn players prestige, and at the end of the fourth day, the player with the most prestige will be declared the greatest tea witch of the Teaquinox Faire!

Timeline: In the Third Age of Middle earth - between the Battle of the Five Armies and the Fellowship of the Ring

Summary: Players acquire resources to complete various quests: Provisions (30 green), Travel (24 blue), Might (18 purple), and Gold (12 yellow). Players use Magic (10 white) as a fifth resource, which may be used in place of the others. Once a Quest card is completed, it earns points and provides an ongoing ability. In addition to the resources, Corruption (10 gray) gives an immediate benefit, but too much will bring suffering. By completing specific quest types (The Shire, Gondor, Rohan, Rivendell, and Legends), players can prove their worth and earn Contracts. Artemis simulates a spaceship bridge by networking several computers together. In Smartphone Inc., you become a CEO of one of the largest smartphone-producing companies in the time when smartphones were only beginning to conquer the world. Research technologies, develop your factory, build your worldwide office network, and outprice your competitors to become the most profitable and successful smartphone company in the world.

Smartphone Inc. is an economic simulation Eurogame. Over five rounds, players program their decisions about price, production, research, and expansion. The game features a unique mechanism of planning, which combines patching mechanisms with bidding and action selection. Each of the rounds consists of eight simple phases: planning, pricing, production, development, research, expansion, selling, and profits.

In the planning phase, all players simultaneously make decisions for the next year by overlaying ("patching") their two plan cards and all of their development tiles. The actions they plan on their cards and tiles in this phase will determine what actions they can perform during all of the later phases.

In the pricing phase, players change the price they charge for their smartphones based on their plan. A lower price helps to go earlier and sell more smartphones on the market, but a higher price, while risky, helps players to earn more money.

In production, all players produce smartphones.

In development, players take development tiles, which expand their planning possibilities in future rounds.

In research, players discover new technologies. Each technology not only expands players' ability to sell smartphones to customers, but also gives them special powers they can use during the game.

In the expansion phase, players open offices in neighbor regions, which allow them to sell in that region and develop their network of offices to more regions in further turns.

Cascadia is a puzzly tile-laying and token-drafting game featuring the habitats and wildlife of the Pacific Northwest.

In the game, you take turns building out your own terrain area and populating it with wildlife. You start with three hexagonal habitat tiles (with the five types of habitat in the game), and on a turn you choose a new habitat tile that's paired with a wildlife token, then place that tile next to your other ones and place the wildlife token on an appropriate habitat. (Each tile depicts 1-3 types of wildlife from the five types in the game, and you can place at most one token on a habitat.) Four tiles are on display, with each tile being paired at random with a wildlife token, so you must make the best of what's available — unless you have a nature token to spend so that you can pick your choice of each item.

Yet, despite their fortifications and imposing armies, rumours began spreading of a formidable foe in the lands above the Black Sea. They came on horseback. Fierce warriors, both male and female. Skilled with the sword, axe and bow. But they weren’t mindless savages. Their artisans were renowned for their ability to craft detailed trinkets of gold. They fashioned leather armour and improvised the recurve bow. They trained eagles for hunting and war. Some even believe they inspired the Greek tales of the Amazons. But they were more than legend or fable. They were the Raiders of Scythia.

The aim of Raiders of Scythia is to be the player with the most Victory Points (VP) at the game’s end. VP are gained by raiding Settlements, taking Plunder and completing Quests. Players will need to assemble a Crew, train Animals and gather Provisions. The game ends when there is only 2 unraided Settlements or 2 Quests remaining on the Main Board.

Song of the Sekuta is a role-playing game set within the World of COLONY, a fantastical universe centered around the lives, cultures, and adventures of the Sekuta – evolutions of modern insects. The Sekuta’s world of Aoiama is vast and rich with lore, mythology, religions, and characters to explore, much of which will be available to read and enjoy in this game’s manual.

This game is a unique blend between traditional pen/paper/dice RPGs, a deck–building element inspired by living card game models, as well as war game mechanics.

This can currently be played in two formats:
A PvP skirmish format called Arena (playable with 2+ players) (~1 hour)
A PvE role-playing format called Adventure (playable with 3+ players) (1 hour+)

This game is still in development. What players will experience during their time at the table reflects an unfinished demo of the game. We are a small team seeking funding opportunities, with passion and dedication to push forward toward our goals. While our resources are scarce, we make do with what we have in technical knowledge, artistic talent and skill, and a hope that our diligent labor will one day bear fruit. We are still iterating and testing many parts of the game, which we hope our most recent public demo will help shed light on where we can improve our system and design.

Carcassonne is a tile placement game in which the players draw and place a tile with a piece of southern French landscape represented on it. Nippon: Zaibatsu is a new edition of Nippon, a fast-paced, area-majority economic game. Players control "zaibatsu": massive conglomerates of interconnected companies driving Japan's economy in the Industrial Revolution era.

During the game, players invest in new industries, build factories and railroads, and produce goods to saturate local markets and fulfill contracts — all to grow their influence and power and to become rulers of the new modernized country. Players are free to choose their playstyle and winning strategy: They choose what they score victory points for, control the game's pace with income turns, and race each other to get the most beneficial factories, markets, and bonuses.

All the core mechanisms of the original Nippon are present, but the components, art, and design are upgraded, and many gameplay features are reworked to get the game in line with modern trends. Song of the Sekuta is a role-playing game set within the World of COLONY, a fantastical universe centered around the lives, cultures, and adventures of the Sekuta – evolutions of modern insects. The Sekuta’s world of Aoiama is vast and rich with lore, mythology, religions, and characters to explore, much of which will be available to read and enjoy in this game’s manual.

This game is a unique blend between traditional pen/paper/dice RPGs, a deck–building element inspired by living card game models, as well as war game mechanics.

This can currently be played in two formats:
A PvP skirmish format called Arena (playable with 2+ players) (~1 hour)
A PvE role-playing format called Adventure (playable with 3+ players) (1 hour+)

This game is still in development. What players will experience during their time at the table reflects an unfinished demo of the game. We are a small team seeking funding opportunities, with passion and dedication to push forward toward our goals. While our resources are scarce, we make do with what we have in technical knowledge, artistic talent and skill, and a hope that our diligent labor will one day bear fruit. We are still iterating and testing many parts of the game, which we hope our most recent public demo will help shed light on where we can improve our system and design.

Pirates of the High Teas is a whimsical set collection game in which players are pirates competing to win their Captain's treasure by serving the most delicious afternoon tea. Players collect and match dishes with tea cards to serve the Captain a perfect meal. To acquire these dishes and teas, players select actions through a strategic worker placement mechanism on the pirate ship that determines turn order and number of cards.

But don't forget, as pirates, there are lots of ways to break the rules! Players can smash their dishes together, creating ridiculous combinations that still pair perfectly. They can also use their cannon to blow up the available cards, send their monkey to steal a card off the top of the deck, and deploy a parrot to smuggle a single card directly to the Captain for points.

Song of the Sekuta is a role-playing game set within the World of COLONY, a fantastical universe centered around the lives, cultures, and adventures of the Sekuta – evolutions of modern insects. The Sekuta’s world of Aoiama is vast and rich with lore, mythology, religions, and characters to explore, much of which will be available to read and enjoy in this game’s manual.

This game is a unique blend between traditional pen/paper/dice RPGs, a deck–building element inspired by living card game models, as well as war game mechanics.

This can currently be played in two formats:
A PvP skirmish format called Arena (playable with 2+ players) (~1 hour)
A PvE role-playing format called Adventure (playable with 3+ players) (1 hour+)

This game is still in development. What players will experience during their time at the table reflects an unfinished demo of the game. We are a small team seeking funding opportunities, with passion and dedication to push forward toward our goals. While our resources are scarce, we make do with what we have in technical knowledge, artistic talent and skill, and a hope that our diligent labor will one day bear fruit. We are still iterating and testing many parts of the game, which we hope our most recent public demo will help shed light on where we can improve our system and design.

In Stefan Feld's new game The Oracle of Delphi, the player's ships travel across a large variable game board of hexagonal tiles showing islands and the surrounding waters. Each player aims to reach certain islands to perform the twelve tasks given by Zeus: e.g., to collect offerings of different colors and to deliver them to corresponding temples, or to slay monsters of a specific type (and color), all of which can be discovered on the islands.

In order to execute these color-dependent actions, you are given three colored dice each turn, the so-called "oracle dice". Rolling the dice (at the start of the turn) is equivalent to consulting the oracle, whereas the results represent her answers. The answers determine which actions you will be able to take, but you will always have three actions per turn. However, a slight divergence from your fate is often possible.

Song of the Sekuta is a role-playing game set within the World of COLONY, a fantastical universe centered around the lives, cultures, and adventures of the Sekuta – evolutions of modern insects. The Sekuta’s world of Aoiama is vast and rich with lore, mythology, religions, and characters to explore, much of which will be available to read and enjoy in this game’s manual.

This game is a unique blend between traditional pen/paper/dice RPGs, a deck–building element inspired by living card game models, as well as war game mechanics.

This can currently be played in two formats:
A PvP skirmish format called Arena (playable with 2+ players) (~1 hour)
A PvE role-playing format called Adventure (playable with 3+ players) (1 hour+)

This game is still in development. What players will experience during their time at the table reflects an unfinished demo of the game. We are a small team seeking funding opportunities, with passion and dedication to push forward toward our goals. While our resources are scarce, we make do with what we have in technical knowledge, artistic talent and skill, and a hope that our diligent labor will one day bear fruit. We are still iterating and testing many parts of the game, which we hope our most recent public demo will help shed light on where we can improve our system and design.

DA:2e03 - Strange creatures seem to come up most often at the fringes of society, where they can easily fade into The background. The town of Birchfrost, off the Lake of Mists and Veils, has a legend of a local creature, once responsible for protecting the town. If there is anything more to this so-called “Beast of Birchfrost,” I am sure that the slightest change in circumstance might herald a dangerous change in the Beast, one the Archive would do well to mind. — K.H.W. The Beast of Birchfrost takes place on the shores of the Lake of Mists and Veils, where tales of the town’s local cryptid appear to have changed from a local protector to something more sinister. The PCs will have to track and confront whatever this creature is to get to the bottom of the local tales.

DA:2e05 - Even the Dark Archive can’t keep tabs on every single club or society, which is why it’s so vital to cultivate connections with those who can. Vir Zhees has long helped us keep tabs on the various societies in Absalom high society, her shrewd interpersonal skills, social position, and long elven lifespan making her uniquely suited for the task. Yet, we should always be wary, for those who deal in secrets know how to keep them, even from us. — K.H.W.

Shaking the Helping Hand takes place in the Petal District of Absalom. On the request of a wealthy patron who had been targeted by a mysterious secret society, the PCs attend an opera. The patron fears that this society will attempt to sabotage a meeting that she is holding with proxies for government officials. In fact, the secret society, known as the Helping Hand, had come to the opera to stop the patron and proxies from abducting servants and trading them away to traffickers from Shadow Absalom. If the PCs uncover the truth, they can stop these abductions and assist the Helping Hand with exposing these criminals from Absalom’s high society.

Song of the Sekuta is a role-playing game set within the World of COLONY, a fantastical universe centered around the lives, cultures, and adventures of the Sekuta – evolutions of modern insects. The Sekuta’s world of Aoiama is vast and rich with lore, mythology, religions, and characters to explore, much of which will be available to read and enjoy in this game’s manual.

This game is a unique blend between traditional pen/paper/dice RPGs, a deck–building element inspired by living card game models, as well as war game mechanics.

This can currently be played in two formats:
A PvP skirmish format called Arena (playable with 2+ players) (~1 hour)
A PvE role-playing format called Adventure (playable with 3+ players) (1 hour+)

This game is still in development. What players will experience during their time at the table reflects an unfinished demo of the game. We are a small team seeking funding opportunities, with passion and dedication to push forward toward our goals. While our resources are scarce, we make do with what we have in technical knowledge, artistic talent and skill, and a hope that our diligent labor will one day bear fruit. We are still iterating and testing many parts of the game, which we hope our most recent public demo will help shed light on where we can improve our system and design.

Thus, when Venture-Captain Calisro Bennary has the opportunity to get a lodge set up in Hoimpeia, one of the chief port cities, she races back to Absalom to collect veteran agents for the task. Her contact isn't giving connections and a site for a lodge away for free. Something has been harassing shipping, and while the authorities are happy to let merchants take a longer route, the change has cost a particular merchant dearly. If the Pathfinders can clear up the shipping lanes, the merchant will move heaven and earth to get them a foothold in Iblydos.

A group of gnomes fleeing harsher restrictions in Brastlewark, one of the largest gnome settlements as well as one nominally ruled by a Thrune sympathizer, has brought terrible news--the self-proclaimed ruler of Brastlewark, King Drum Thornfiddle has been using Hellknight enforcers to crack down on the gnome citizens, as well as forcing many to use their primal magics to mix with diabolical ones in the creation of weapons of war, such as the Jaws of Hell, which saw use in the Battle of Hellknight Hill.

The Andoran Army has pushed far enough into Cheliax that destruction of these facilities and liberation of the gnomes is now possible, but they can't do both. It's up to you and your fellow Pathfinders to see that the gnomes are safe, and that they can know true freedom, away from the tyranny of Cheliax and House Thrune. Written by Shan Wolf.

A fearsome dragon is threatening to burn all the villages in the kingdom! Luckily, dragons are greedy, so if you can bribe him with treasures from the battlefield like a barbarian's axe or a phoenix feather, you might persuade him to spare your village. Unfortunately, other villagers in the kingdom have the same idea. Who can best time their bribes to ensure their treasures are most valued by the dragon when the game comes to an end?

In Please Don't Burn My Village!, which is set in the world of Castle Panic, you want to bribe with the right treasure at the right time to keep the dragon's attention — while buying treasures at the black market and cursing the other villagers' treasures. When no treasure remains, the dragon will burn all of the villages except one. Will yours be the one that survives?

In more detail, players hold a hand of treasure cards that they can use to 1) bribe the dragon, 2) buy more treasure cards from the black market, or 3) draw a treasure card. When they bribe the dragon, they place the cards in sets in front of them, move the token up in value in the dragon's favor, and deal more cards into the black market.

If they instead choose to buy at the black market, they pay from their hand the number of cards indicated on a black market stall, take the cards from that stall into their hand, and move down a treasure in the dragon's favor that matches one of the cards they used to buy their cards. The number of spaces a player moves a token up (when bribing the dragon) or down (when buying at the black market) equals the number cards played. If players don't want to affect the values in the dragon's favor or are out of cards, they can simply draw a card.

The game features a push-your-luck ending: every time someone bribes the dragon, cards are turned over and placed in the black market spaces until a matching card or wild is revealed. When no card is found and the deck runs out, the game ends, play stops and players add any cards in their hand

In Please Don't Burn My Village!, which is set in the world of Castle Panic, you want to bribe with the right treasure at the right time to keep the dragon's attention — while buying treasures at the black market and cursing the other villagers' treasures. When no treasure remains, the dragon will burn all of the villages except one. Will yours be the one that survives?

In more detail, players hold a hand of treasure cards that they can use to 1) bribe the dragon, 2) buy more treasure cards from the black market, or 3) draw a treasure card. When they bribe the dragon, they place the cards in sets in front of them, move the token up in value in the dragon's favor, and deal more cards into the black market.

If they instead choose to buy at the black market, they pay from their hand the number of cards indicated on a black market stall, take the cards from that stall into their hand, and move down a treasure in the dragon's favor that matches one of the cards they used to buy their cards. The number of spaces a player moves a token up (when bribing the dragon) or down (when buying at the black market) equals the number cards played. If players don't want to affect the values in the dragon's favor or are out of cards, they can simply draw a card.

The game features a push-your-luck ending: every time someone bribes the dragon, cards are turned over and placed in the black market spaces until a matching card or wild is revealed. When no card is found and the deck runs out, the game ends, play stops and players add any cards in their hand
